My favourite locations

The location of your photos plays a big role in setting the vibe and overall look of your gallery.

I usually work at local spots around Ballarat, just a short drive away, or at the beautiful Surf Coast. Sessions can also take place at your home or another meaningful location. If you have a special spot in mind, let me know and we can chat about it.

When choosing your location, think about the season and how it can play with your clothing. Soft pastels and florals pop beautifully in spring, rich earthy tones feel magical in autumn, and cozy layers work perfectly in winter. Your wardrobe helps set the overall vibe of the gallery, so you can have your photos feel playful, relaxed, or timeless.

A woman sitting on the sidewalk while a young girl, likely her daughter, playfully gives her a piggyback ride outside a building with black-and-white checkered windows and an open sign.
A family of four standing outside a diner with a checkered door, the father and two young girls are smiling, while a woman crouches down to talk to one of the girls.

The old car garage

Not for the faint-hearted, but full of fun! Featuring a black-and-white checked backdrop with pops of yellow and red, this location is perfect for families who love activities — feel free to bring a scooter or skateboard.

📍 Located in central Ballarat

A group of twelve people, including adults and children, sits and stands on a turquoise bench outdoors among tall, green trees with a gravel path in the foreground.
A woman with tattoos and glasses holding a laughing young boy outdoors with green trees and bushes in the background.

A stunning garden setting filled with greenery, flowers, and colourful bench seats. Just a 15-minute drive from Ballarat, this location is peaceful and quiet with very little foot traffic, perfect for a relaxed session.

(Spring & Summer time morning sessions only)

Lambley Nursery

A family of four standing outdoors during autumn, with leafless trees in the background. The mother, father, and two young children are smiling and enjoying time together.

A beautiful garden setting with plenty of variety, where each area has its own unique feel and changes with the seasons. A favourite spot for many of my local clients.

Think flowers blooming through spring and summer, golden crunchy leaves in autumn, charming steps perfect for sitting and taking photos, and little ponds to explore.

Perfect for morning or afternoon sessions.

Kirks Reservoir

A location in central Ballarat, perfect for families who prefer a little less nature and all its elements.

We move at a slower pace, with our bellies in mind, taking a gentle stroll around some of Ballarat’s charming buildings. Maybe we’ll stop for a scoop of ice cream, or pop into your favourite café for a babychino and coffee — little moments like these make the session feel relaxed and fun.

Urban city vibes

Think a wide grassy field, the perfect spot for family sessions with plenty of room for little ones to explore. In spring and summer the trees are full and beautifully green, while autumn and winter bring soft golden tones with bare yellow trees.

A very timeless and safe option for any season.

Best suited for afternoon sessions.

Victoria Park

A family of three, a woman, a man, and a young child, stand in shallow water on a beach. The woman holds the child, and the family is smiling and looking at each other. The sun is setting behind a mountain in the background, casting a bright light and creating a scenic outdoor setting.
A young boy walking barefoot on a sandy beach, smiling, with the ocean in the background.

A stunning coastal location reached by a short walk (around 200 stairs) down to the sand. There’s plenty to explore for the kids, pack a towel and spare clothes, because they will get wet!

Usually quiet with low crowds, though expect a little more foot traffic in summer. Located about 1.5 hours from Ballarat.

Point addis beach

A man with short dark hair and wearing a brown sweater holding a sleeping baby dressed in a white outfit, pink knit hat, and purple pants, while sitting against a stone wall.

This coastal gem is perfect for little adventurers! There’s so much to explore, and trust me—they’ll end up wet, so bring a towel and spare clothes. To make the most of it (and avoid the crowds), early mornings are ideal here..
